    Here’s a detailed list of the documents required for applying for Singapore citizenship, based on different categories of applicants:

    1. General Documents for All Applicants

    • Current Passport: Copies of the personal particulars and other relevant pages (e.g., visas, entry stamps).
    • Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) Card: Proof of your PR status.
    • Identity Card (NRIC): For PRs, a valid NRIC.
    • Recent Passport-Sized Photograph: Adhere to ICA’s photo specifications (taken within the last 3 months).

    2. For Adults Applying Citizenship as Permanent Residents

    • Employment Details:
      • Income Tax Returns (past 3 years): Copies of your Income Tax Notice of Assessment.
      • Employment Letter: A letter from your employer verifying your employment details (date of employment, salary, designation).
      • CPF Contribution History: Latest 12 months’ CPF (Central Provident Fund) statements.
    • Education Certificates:
      • Highest academic qualifications (certificates, diplomas, degrees).
      • If your certificates are from overseas institutions, you may need to provide translated versions and/or certificates of equivalency.
    • Housing Information:
      • Proof of home ownership or rental agreement.
      • HDB flat ownership documents or private property tenancy agreement.
    • Financial Documents (for self-employed):
      • Latest 3 years’ Income Tax Notice of Assessment.
      • Proof of business ownership (if applicable).

    3. For Spouses of Singapore Citizens

    • Marriage Certificate: Proof of your marriage to a Singaporean citizen.
    • Spouse’s Citizenship Documents:
      • Spouse’s Singapore Birth Certificate or Singapore Citizenship Certificate.
      • Spouse’s NRIC and passport.
    • Joint Documents (if applicable):
      • Proof of joint ownership of property or rental agreement.
      • Joint bank account statements or financial records.
    • Employment and Tax Information: Similar to the documents required for PR applicants (income tax returns, CPF contributions, etc.).

    4. For Children (Born Overseas to Singapore Citizens)

    • Birth Certificate: Child’s birth certificate.
    • Parent’s Citizenship Documents:
      • Parent’s Singapore Birth Certificate, Citizenship Certificate, and NRIC.
      • Parent’s passport and PR card.
    • Parent’s Marriage Certificate (if applicable).
    • Proof of Legal Custody: In case of divorce or separation, documentation proving legal custody over the child.
    • Educational Records: School records or academic qualifications (if applicable).

    5. For Foreign Investors

    • Investment Details: Documents showing your investments in Singapore, such as proof of business ownership, shareholding, or assets.
    • Financial Records: Income tax returns, CPF contributions, or any relevant documentation proving your financial contributions to the economy.

    6. Other Supporting Documents

    • Bank Statements: To demonstrate financial stability.
    • Volunteer or Community Service: If applicable, provide records of community service or volunteering, as they can support your application.
    • Travel History: ICA may request details on your travel history (entry/exit dates), which can be obtained from your passport or relevant immigration authority.

    Additional Notes:

    • Translations: Any non-English documents must be translated into English by an official translator.
    • Document Certification: In some cases, documents may need to be certified by a lawyer or notary public.
    • Online Submission: All documents should be scanned and uploaded through the ICA’s e-application system. Ensure that documents are clear, legible, and in acceptable file formats (PDF, JPEG, etc.).
